We are looking for an engaged Regional Network Development Manager
who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work
with us in a multinational environment.
The Scope
The Network Development Manager is part of the European Regional
Team and supports operational management and strategic development within
the region. They oversee and support country level projects while leading
projects of their own. They contribute to developing FSC in Europe through
close collaboration with country based FSC Network Partners, National
Representatives and various FSC stakeholders. They will develop FSC
presence in countries with no FSC representation and subsequently support
newly established offices. In addition, they support the region on strategic
projects, market opportunities, operational and governance topics.
Regional Network Development Manager (m-f-d)
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor regional strategic projects, providing guidance
to project leads on project governance and management and act as
a sounding board to keep projects on track ability to course correcting
when required.
- Keep on top of regional trends, report impact on FSC’s development
and propose opportunities to support regional performance.
- Provide support to national teams on operational, strategic
or governance related topics.
- Guide FSC members on network development opportunities in the
region.
- Cultivate collaboration between country-based network partners
and national representatives with the FSC International Headquarters.
- Execution and support of cross-departmental coordination and
alignment for the introduction and consistent implementation of
project roll out in the region.
- Oversee outsourced work in European countries with no FSC representation.
- Coordinate and support agenda setting and logistics of regional
meetings to enable collaboration amongst the FSC national teams
and regional team.
- Coordinate input from the region to relevant global FSC developments
- Work with central teams on regional priority setting for FSC
trademark development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the European Regional Network on key account
management and support global key account management internationally.
- Support implementation of global priorities in the region.
- Lead regional projects.
- Provide oversight support to projects operating at a country
level.
- Ad hoc travel with region for FSC related meetings, remote work,
and project management.
- Preparation of management documents for decision making and
reporting
- Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project
work as assigned according to special organizational needs.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Education and Training:
- University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
(e.g. business administration, management, sustainable development)
- Formal training in project management.
- Formal training in budget management, performance reporting
and
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in operational management, project
management, market development or sustainability management.
- Ability to handle multiple workstreams/projects.
- Extensive Project management experience.
- Ability to work autonomously (planning, organization, prioritization)
- Confidence with planning, overseeing, and reporting on project
budgets.
- Experience in analysis and reporting – solid presentation skills
that convey complex topics to a diverse audience in clear and concise
means.
- International working experience and ability to engage with
a wide range of stakeholders from different countries and cultures.
- Intercultural competencies: strong interpersonal and communicating
skills combined with a confident demeanour at various hierarchical
levels.
- Experience with strategic planning and governance is a plus.
- Experience with agenda-setting/event facilitation is a plus.
- Solution oriented attitude to work.
- Experience with financial administration/management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Leadership:
- Experience in operational management and of staff a plus.
Languages:
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
- Other European/international languages is a plus.
Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
- Standard software packages (MS Office) in particular
advanced capabilities with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Business Intelligence (BI) knowledge/experience a plus.
- Knowledgeable and/or curious on AI and Chat GPT like
programs.
Communication Skills:
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills that
contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Active-listening skills.
- Ability to facilitate interactive discussions.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal
relations.
Others:
- Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit
Organization.
- Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the
diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to
the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
- Basic understanding of the scope of FSC’s programs and
activities.
Terms and Conditions
- Location: Bonn, Germany
- Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
- Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years
(extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance to
substantive position)
- Starting Date: As soon as possible
- Frequent travel is required
