We are looking for an engaged Communications Officer, India
who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work
with us in a multinational environment.
The Scope
To develop and implement all communications engagement works and
strategies for FSC India with various stakeholders, increase their
understanding about FSC’s sustainability systems, and assist in
promotion of FSC’s mission in India.
Communications Officer, India (m-f-d)
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- To assist FSC Country Director to develop and implement long
term and annual communications plans aligned with FSC’s global
communications strategy.
- To develop and maintain a systematic outreach and feedback
mechanism for stakeholders (non-technical).
- Develop and implement communication tools including outreach
and content production calendar.
- To create variety of engaging written communications and
visual content, ensuring quality, accuracy, that aligns with
corporate and social messaging norms.
- To monitor various communication and outreach platforms and
encourage engagement.
- To draft and disseminate media releases, articles, and other
communications materials.
- Coordinate and oversee the storytelling, including
identifying potential stories, brief development, story
gathering, photo and video production, writing, and publication.
- Creation and design of content for news items, articles,
newsletters, websites, publications, factsheets, brochures, and
infographics.
- Manage and execute social media influencer relationships and
activations.
- Production of podcasts for social media and other channels.
- To develop and maintain content for website, social media,
and corporate communications.
- To provide communications support to selected events.
- To collaborate and align with FSC APAC on media outreach
activities.
- Any other task as assigned by FSC India Country Director
according to special organizational needs.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Education and Training:
- University degree in a relevant field (Business
Administration, Communication, Journalism, Marketing and Sales)
- Certificate course (one month or more) in environment /
sustainability field is desirable.
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- At least 3 years relevant experience in communication
engagement.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning,
implementing, and reporting.
- Expertise in drafting, designing, and posting social media
posts.
- Excellent coordination and negotiation skills.
- Multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability and eagerness to learn in an ever-changing business
context.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
both orally and in writing.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience with forest and forest-products related
organisations is a plus.
- Experience in working on CANVA or similar graphic or video
editing software is a plus.
Languages:
- Excellent ability to speak and write in English and Hindi.
- Working knowledge of some other Indian language(s) will be a
plus.
Others:
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-cultural,
inter-disciplinary, multi-lingual, global team.
- Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
- Basic understanding of the scope of FSC’s programs and
activities.
- Ability to represent FSC India with exemplary personal and
professional authority and conduct.
Terms and Conditions
- Location: Delhi, with a liability to work in any other city
in India.
- Working Hours: Full time (220 working days per calendar
year)
- Type of contract: Service and License agreement as FSC
consultant.
- Duration of Employment: 2 years (extension possible, subject
to satisfactory performance).
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Travel: Sporadic travel within India and abroad may be
required.
